Carb Your Way Bigger
There has been a large movement in recent years that has to do with
carbohydrates and the way that we use them. It all started with
the Atkins diet and many individuals began to cut carbohydrates
completely out of their daily eating habits and to fill it up with fats
and proteins. To be perfectly fair, people have lost a
considerable amount of weight by going on an extremely low carbohydrate
diet and I can be counted in among that number. The unfortunate
thing is, however, you are not always told the entire story about what
is going on in your body.
A low carbohydrate diet is going to force your body to burn fat because
of a condition that is known as ketosis. This is a very effective
way of becoming a fat burning machine but unfortunately, ketosis also
burns away some of your organs as well. If you think that ketosis
is a beneficial thing for the body, try talking to a diabetic and
asking them if they enjoy being in ketosis. You will quickly
learn that it is of no benefit to the body at all.
You would think, however, that eating all of that protein would add to
additional muscle mass on the body if you were working out.
People who work out regularly often eat as much protein as they
possibly can during the day, pounding down protein shakes and eating
chicken breasts at every meal. They do see some results because
of this but many of them overlook the fact that the body also needs
carbohydrates in order to get large.
Carbohydrates provide the body with energy, something that all of us
need in order to keep going. It is carbohydrates that are truly
going to help you to get through a workout at the gym or to keep going
during a difficult day. If you cut the carbohydrates out of your
diet, you are cutting out some of the ability that you have to gain
weight in the form of your muscle.
Of course, not all carbohydrates are beneficial for the body and some
of them are better left alone altogether. If you eat the
carbohydrates that your body needs, however, you will notice
differences in the way that you feel as well as the way that you
look. It is a part of being balanced which is a large part of
being able to put on muscle.
Work Your Legs to Grow Your Upper Body
I don't know many people who work out on a regular basis that don't
enjoy having a well formed upper body. As a matter of fact, the
majority of men will spend most of their time working on their arms and
chest as well as the back muscles in order to get as large and defined
as possible. The unfortunate thing about this is that many of
them are leaving a lot of the muscle growth that they could be
experiencing out of the picture, simply because they are not working
their body in the proper way.
If you're trying to grow a naturally defined upper body, you cannot
neglect working the other areas of your body, such as your legs and a
core muscles. As a matter of fact, most people tend to hit a
plateau and they work for many months just for minor gains whenever
they could be gaining every week if they were just working out their
lower body regularly. This is a weight lifting secret that most
people do not understand and it is one of the best ways for you to grow
unnaturally strong and defined body. Why is that the case?
The body loves to be in balance and if you're working on your upper
body and not working any other part of your body, you are not hardly
fostering any balance within it, are you? In order for your upper
body to grow, it expects your lower body to be worked out and just as
hard. I'm not saying that you cannot see gains in your upper body
without working out your lower body muscles but I am saying that you
will not see as much in the way of muscle growth if you neglect the
larger muscles of your body.
Much of the strength that we have comes from the core of the body and
if we are neglecting these muscles, we are going to be neglecting a lot
of strength that we could be gaining. That is why it is important
to work the core as well as the lower legs and upper body.
Make sure that you maintain a balance regardless of what it is that you
are doing. If you keep your body in balance, you will give it the
opportunity to be as healthy as possible. This will, in turn,
give you the chance to put on some additional muscle mass.
What Should You Be Taking to Gain Muscle?
If you were to take a look at any muscle building magazine, you would
be inundated with different advertisements which tell you all of the
things that you need to be taking in order to pack on some muscle
quickly. Some of them do work for the short term but they are
chemicals that I would not necessarily want to put in my body if I am
trying to keep it healthy and natural. Even some of the natural
things that are offered in these magazines are not necessarily good for
you if you take them regularly. With all of the different options
that you have, many people are wondering what it is that they should be
taking in order to pack on some muscle.
One of the first things that most people learn whenever they start
working out is that they need to eat a lot of protein. There are
a number of different figures that are typically thrown at these
people, but for the most part it adds up to about 50 g per
sitting. Believe it or not, this is not necessary and as a matter
of fact, you might be taking in too much protein which is not good for
your health.
I'm not saying that it's unimportant to eat protein, quite the opposite
is true. What is important, however, is that you take in protein
that is all natural and in its organic and raw state. Cooked
protein in the form of chicken breasts or shake that you are buying in
a pack is dead protein. It will provide you with some benefits
but if you were to take in live protein, you would get all of the
protein that you needed in much smaller numbers. Not only that,
you would also be getting a number of different enzymes and amino acids
that would be broken down into the body and absorbed quickly.
One final thing that you need to make sure that you are taking in order
to gain muscle is water. The entire body is made up of water to a
large extent and this also includes our muscles. If you're
dehydrating your body, you are depleting what is necessary in order to
grow and to function properly. Give your body the water that it
needs and it will reward you with better health and a better physique.
